Dear Autumn,
Dear Autumn,
You waltzed on the wind like a leaf falling to the ground
The crispy crunch of life
beautifully, luminously
Transformed into
Golden trails of degradation
The light fades
Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust
The cold cloaks the back of my head
Raising the hairs on my neck and the
Tiny capillaries in my ears rush blood
To warm the extremities
Sweet Autumn,
You let go in a dizzying tizzy like a leaf falling to the ground
The dusty orb of future fortunes
Hovering, looming
Frosting over in the
Not so near windowsill
The flame flickers;
Cinders and embers
Remnants and relics
The sun pleases the roses in my cheeks
Enlightening the depths of my heart
Reminding me to tend to my garden
So I close my smiling eyes
Sweet, sweet Autumn
You fill me up like the ocean fills
The salty swell of seashell
Swirling on the breeze
I, beautifully, luminously
Give thanks to thee
